How to use FAIRTIQ in Normandy ?
Travelling with FAIRTIQ is a breeze : ativate the app juste before boarding, stop it when your trip ends and pay only after.
With FAIRTIQ, you’ll always get the right price and can relax knowing the cost of your ticket will adapt to your journey :
🚆 On Nomad Train, the price of your Tempo ticket is linked to the number of kilometers traveled, and travelers aged 12 to 25 can benefit from a 50% discount.
🚌 On Nomad Car, the price of your single ticket is adjusted according to the number of zones crossed (except for express lines which have a specific pricing policy).
🚇 On urban networks, you automatically benefit from the best daily fare (1-hour ticket or day ticket depending on the number of journeys made).
And the app remains active even if you change lines or modes of transport—as long as you stay within the FAIRTIQ area.
FAIRTIQ is valid in Normandy on:

Your first steps with FAIRTIQ
Create your account
- 1. Download the FAIRTIQ app from the App Store or Google Play Store.
- 2. Enter your phone number: a password will be sent by text message to complete the registration process.
3. Allow access to you location. FAIRTIQ uses this information to detect and calculate the correct trip.
4. Set up your profile and add a payment method. You will only be charged when you travel.

Travel with FAIRTIQ
Start a trip with FAIRTIQ
When you open the FAIRTIQ app, the nearest station will be automatically displayed.
Just remember to start your trip before your vehicle departs to ensure your ticket is valid.
Here’s a helpful tip : activate ‘Companion’ mode to register a passenger and travel with two people directly via your FAIRTIQ account.
View / show your ticket
Your ticket is automatically created in your app and is always accessible. Enjoy your ride worry-free. When inspection staff come around, simply tap “Show ticket”.
Switch
The app allows you to travel without interruption; it remains active during transfers. You can travel on multiple networks with a single ticket.
Stop your trip
Once you reach your destination, remember to end your trip via the app. If you forget, the SMART STOP feature detects prolonged inactivity and prompts you to end your trip.
Pay for your trips
FAIRTIQ’s “best price” feature is simple: after completing a trip, FAIRTIQ evaluates all available ticket options and selects the most adapted one.
This could mean combining tickets or switching to a ticket with a longer validity period, such as one that lasts 24 hours. It works on a daily basis!
Actually, FAIRTIQ trips are not billed individually. Once completed, the trip appears on the current bill. At this stage, no amount is debited.
The current bill is settled later, according to the following principles:
> At the end of each day (during the first 5 days of use)
> As soon as the total reaches €15, or at the end of the month if the amount is less than €15
Your travel and payment history is available in the app (Menu > History).

The fare applied is that of the Tempo ticket (based on the number of kilometers travelled).
The youth fare applies to persons under 26 years of age andgives a 50% reduction.
> Nomad Car
The single ticket price depends on the number of fare zones crossed – single ticket €2.00 for 1 zone crossed, €3.00 for 2 zones crossed, €4.00 for 3 zones crossed, €5.00 for 4 zones and above.
Express lines 122 and 216 are subject to specific pricing.
> Urban transport networks
Twisto: single ticket €1.60, capped at €4.00 per 24-hour period.
LiA: single ticket €1.80, maximum €4.50 per 24-hour period.
Cap Cotentin: single ticket €1.00, capped at €4.00 per 24-hour period
Semo : Semo: single ticket €1.00, capped at €2.40 per 24-hour period.

Before your travel
Remember to begin your journey BEFORE boarding a vehicle. Once your journey starts, you will be able to travel anywhere within the launch area.
The networks included in the scope of validity are:
The regular lines of the LiA network of Le Havre Seine Métropole: tram and bus.
The regular lines of the Twisto network of Caen La Mer: tram, bus, school lines of the complementary network, shuttle to the city center, Noctibus.
The regular lines of the Cap Cotentin network of Cherbourg: urban and intercommunal lines.
The two Nomad Car lines no. 111 (CAEN <> CABOURG <> DEAUVILLE <> HONFLEUR <> LE HAVRE) and no. 122 Express (CAEN <> HONFLEUR <> LE HAVRE).
The sections strictly included in Normandy regular connections Nomad Train, except on the ABANCOURT <> LE TREPORT axis.
The stations at the limits of the validity scope are: ALENCON, BUEIL, GOURNAY-FERRIERES, NONANCOURT, PONTORSON-MONT-SAINT-MICHEL, SERQUEUX, VERNON-GIVERNY.
The sections strictly included in Normandy regular connections by car SNCF TER.
During your travel
During a screening, press “show my ticket” in FAIRTIQ. Your e-ticket will then be displayed on the screen. Present to the control officer.
If you leave the application’s scope of validity during your journey, you no longer have a valid ticket and you are not travelling in good standing. You may be fined.

After your travel
As soon as you have arrived at your destination and left the vehicle, you must stop your journey by dragging the ” STOP ” button from right to left.
Once you have left the vehicle and stopped your journey, the application calculates the distance travelled as well as the price corresponding to the regulated rates set by each of our partner networks.
The application uses as a basis for calculating prices the tariffs of the individual shares of the borrowed networks, under conditions defined by the partner networks and applying the existing tariff agreements agreed between the networks.
In addition, the application limits prices over a 24-hour period by applying the rates of the 24h titles Twisto and LiA. This allows you to control your budget when travelling individually 3 or more times over a 24-hour period on these two networks.
Details of the tariffs applied
Twisto: unit title at 1.60€, cap at 4.00€ per 24 hour period. These rates also apply for the train journeys between CAEN and BRETTEVILLE-NORREY
LiA: unit 1.80€ bond, cap at 4.50€ per 24-hour period. These rates also apply for the train journeys between LE HAVRE and ROLLEVILLE (Lézard’d’Express)
Cap Cotentin: single title at 1.00€, capping at 4.00€ per period of 24 hours. These fares also apply to the train between Cherbourg and Valognes.
Nomad Car: for regular lines (#111), the tariff is determined by the number of fare zones crossed (see breakdown here), according to the logic indicated here. For express lines (#122), a specific tariff logic is applied (see here).
Nomad Train (and SNCF TER Cars): the fare is the Tempo ticket (its training is detailed here). A 50% discount is applied for -26 year old profiles.
